Who Am I?

I graduated from the University of Florida Veterinary School in 1994. I moved back to Worcester, MA to begin my career working at Hillside Veterinary Clinic in Auburn, MA. I had been working there as a receptionist/technician since 1985. In 1996, my wife and I moved and I decided to join the team at the Gardner Animal Hospital in Gardner, MA. GAH reopened in 2000 as Gardner Animal Care Center and in 2004, I joined Dr. McTigue as a Co-owner. After joining the team, I found an animal hospital that met and exceeded all my expectations. After speaking with Dr. McTigue, we set a plan in action that would ultimately result in a partnership. In 2004, we signed our partnership papers. We have not looked back. We are the only locally AAHA Accredited practice serving Gardner and the surrounding communities. In 2013, we won 2nd Place in the AAHA Practice of the Year. It is our pleasure to celebrate and cultivate the Family-Pet-Veterinary Bond. We are proud and honored to serve this wonderful area. Come Join Our Family-A Lifetime Relationship. In 2017, while continuing at the Gardner Animal Care Center, I began a new adventure consulting with AmeriVet Veterinary Partners. I am excited to work with a Corporation introducing a novel approach to the Corporate model. They are partnering with animal hospitals vs the typical model of 100% buyout (though this remains an option). AmeriVet will do what they do best while allowing the veterinarian to do what we do best. Autonomy is maintained for the day to day operations. This will revolutionize the corporate model. In January 2018, I was named the National Medical Director for AmeriVet Veterinary Partners.

Why Am I Fundraising?

As you all know, in addition to being an emotionally-driven profession, U.S. veterinarians continue to face staffing challenges, putting even more strain on their mental well-being leading to disproportionately high suicide rates, according to research conducted by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC). During the month of September, in awareness of Suicide Prevention Month and as a response to these harrowing statistics, NOMV will host its annual Race Around the World. As a partner to NOMV, this race initiative is near and dear to our hearts because we know the strides this organization is making in providing mental health resources to veterinary professionals. We invite you to join us in this race to continue moving the needle, and we appreciate your time or dollars in support of this worthy cause.
