Get active with CASA of the Eastern Panhandle!

THE VIRTUAL CHALLENGE

Every child needs a champion, someone in their corner who will fight for their best interests when their world has been turned upside down. From October 1-31st, CASA-EP is hosting their second Superhero Challenge!

CASA-EP Superhero Challenge can be accomplished anywhere and at any time. Run, walk, hike, bike, and get active however you like to support this activity challenge.  Join the fun on your own, with your kids, friends, or colleagues, and get active for the most vulnerable children in the Eastern Panhandle.

Last year, superheroes in this community covered a quarter of 1,000 miles for children in the Eastern Panhandle. This year, we're challenging ourselves to really go the distance and achieve the community goal of 1,000 miles! This is more than possible through our new variety of activities this year!

We make products more accessible and affordable to the food industry because of our unique position between suppliers and our customers. By streamlining the supply chain and building valuable partnerships along the way, everyone benefits from our redistribution business model.

Our brands are trusted in millions of living rooms, kitchens, laundry rooms, and bathrooms—and have been passed down from generation to generation. Over the course of 181 years, they’ve challenged convention, led innovation, and helped shape culture.

But no matter how much we grow, we always keep ourselves grounded in our deep-rooted purpose, values, and principles—and an unwritten acknowledgement between our company and our colleagues that being our best, and doing our best for one another, for the people who buy our products, and for the world around us will lead to mutual success.

We’ve been doing this for more than 67,000 days, and we don’t plan on stopping anytime soon.

None of our home loans have Private Mortgage Insurance (PMI), which saves you money. At United, our commitment to providing excellence in service extends beyond banking. It includes giving back to the communities in which we live and work, striving to make a difference each and every day. We encourage our employees to get involved and each year, they volunteer thousands of hours and raise funds for a number of causes. As we continue to grow, so does the impact we have on our communities. We invest our time, talent and resources to help build a brighter future in the places we call home.

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of the Eastern Panhandle provides a powerful voice and a meaningful connection for children who have experienced abuse or neglect and are now part of an overburdened child welfare system. Highly-trained, court-appointed volunteers are supervised by CASA-EP’s staff of professionals and become sworn officers of the court. CASA advocates are carefully matched with a child to advocate for the child’s or youth’s social, emotional, educational, and permanency needs and ensure that they are met (promptly and fully) through appropriate social services, educational support, and access to other community resources.
