Let's be stronger together!

Join the atlas GO challenge leading up to World Mental Health Day. Do good for your own mental health and the resilience of others at the same time.

Together, can we spend at least 2,000 hours on activities that are good for mental health until World Mental Health Day, 10 October 2021, and with that unlock 20k for the International Committee of the Red Cross?

Join the challenge, individually or as a team. Sports, meditation, community work, or team activities - check out the many opportunities to get involved.

Established in 1863, the ICRC operates worldwide, helping people affected by conflict and armed violence and promoting the laws that protect victims of war. Amongst many different activities, we develop programmes that build up local capacity to stabilize and improve the mental health and ensure the emotional well-being of individuals and communities affected by armed conflict and other situations of violence.

Mental health support must be included in the first wave of humanitarian assistance. This is why the ICRC has developed a mental health and psychosocial support programme that is implemented during and after armed conflict and other situations of violence.

We also address psychological and psychosocial needs at the individual, family, and community level, promoting their own coping mechanisms; and preventing further mental health and psychosocial problems. Our interventions are culturally adapted and use a participatory approach, as we are aware that Western approaches to psychology might not always be the best fit.

As a Foundation, we want to build resilient societies and one of the ways we do this is by addressing inequalities and inefficiencies in peoples access to healthcare. Despite real progress that has been made with respect to improving health around the globe, about 400 million people still lack access to essential health services. By 2021, we aim to have touched the lives of about 1 million people through projects designed to improve the accessibility of healthcare.

What is the challenge format?

The Swiss Re Foundation donates to ICRC for every hour we log on atlasGO until we reach our goal of $20,000. Then, the challenge will continue until World Mental Health Day on October 10, 2021. How many hours can we get to?

Do I need to donate when I log an activity?

No – logging your activities means a donation will be made on your behalf by Swiss Re Foundation, there is no requirement for you to make a monetary donation or ask for any sponsorship from friends / family.

Who can participate?

We have designed the challenge to be as inclusive as possible, allowing Swiss Re employees to invite family members and friends to participate too. Contractors and external employees can also take part. Feel free to share with your network!

For technical questions about the atlasGO platform, please check out our FAQs or reach out to support@atlasGO.org if you encounter any issues. We are happy to help
