Why Am I Fundraising?

It's time to celebrate 90 years of the World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh! This is a BIG birthday during a transformative period and collective experience in our shared history. What better way to connect to our world and to each other than to get outside and explore? Building a more globally connected and globally minded world begins with each of us. Our everyday choices shape our understanding of our place in the world and can change our minds, open our hearts, and leave a lasting impact on our communities. Start wherever you are--solo, virtual, or join a team--and, together, let's connect as a global community to the world around us. Go on a bike ride around your neighborhood, visit a new park for a hike with your family, or invite a new friend to kayak the waterways -- the closer we get to nature and to each other, the more we are reminded of the impact, interconnectivity, and responsibility we share in building a better world.
