I was not new to the world of childhood cancer when my son was diagnosed. My cousin was diagnosed with Ewing’s sarcoma at 21. My other cousin’s son was diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma at 10. My son was diagnosed at 3 with Neuroblastoma. I fight for them. I raise awareness for them, and the lifelong challenges they will face. We need better treatment.
Once you’ve seen treatment first hand, you don’t know what these kids go through. They can handle more than adults. They take hit after hit and still manage to get up and want to play. Children are incredible and it’s time for us to put them first.
