Who Am I?

We are climbing in honor of our beloved Lynn; daughter, sister, auntie. Lynn lost her battle to colon cancer on August 4th 2019 after a difficult and heartbreaking 2.5 year fight.

Why Am I Fundraising?

Lynn was 36 years old when she was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer. Rates of early-age onset colorectal cancer have been rising steadily since the mid-1990s. There was a 51% increase in cases of colorectal cancer in people age 20-49 from 1994 to 2012.Patients under 50 are 58% more likely than older patients to be diagnosed with late stage disease (stage III or IV). Early detection is the key to surviving this illness and lack of awareness of signs and symptoms by patients and their doctors is a contributing factor to late diagnosis. By raising awareness and funds for research and advocacy, together we will fight this preventable disease.
