I am a Stage 4 Colon Cancer Survivor. I was diagnosed at 29 years old. Doctors ignored my symptoms when I tried getting a colonoscopy at 27. I had my sigmoid colon laparoscopically resected . That is when they found a mass that was cancerous. 1 of 28 lymph nodes were cancerous. I did scans where they found a small spot on my liver. I did 12 rounds of FOLFOX chemotherapy and after 5 rounds I was considered NED. I still had 65% of my liver removed to be safe, then I finished chemo. I’m currently 3 years cancer free July 17. I am doing this climb for everyone who has went through this cancer and the younger crowd as well.
I am fundraising for this event to help raise money for research. There is just not enough funding for the second deadliest cancer. We need answers and research on why this is happening to so many, especially the young crowd.
