Jelena Tompkins

Who Am I?

My name is Jelena and I was just days away from my 35th birthday when I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Colorectal Cancer. I went through the standard treatment of 28 days of radiation and the oral chemotherapy Xeloda, LAR surgery where they removed part of my colon, rectum, and 17 lymph nodes, then did 8 rounds of the IV chemotherapy FOLFOX. I have been NED (have No Evidence of Disease) for over 4 years now and have made it my mission to raise awareness for this disease and help others that have been diagnosed. I am the creator of the YouTube channel, Life as a Cancer Survivor, where I talk about what it's like being diagnosed with cancer, going through treatment, and what happens when treatment is over.

Why Am I Fundraising?

Fight CRC is dedicated to finding a cure for this horrible disease and all funds raised for the Climb for a Cure will go towards cutting edge research to end this disease. Please help support our mission to find a cure!

What Will My Climb Look Like?

My "Climb" will look a little different this year. I will be participating in the Pikes Peak Ascent, which is a 13.3-mile race that starts in Manitou Springs, CO and climbs over 7,500ft. to finish at the top of Pikes Peak at 14,115ft.
